On 24 November 2023, CBRE and Nhood Hungary employees planted 1200 native tree saplings and 150 native shrubs in the nearly half hectare area of the Auchan Commercial Center in Maglód. The cooperation of the two companies along common interests not only has a positive environmental impact, but is a collaboration towards a green commitment that is exemplary in the Hungarian real estate sector.

An important element of our company's corporate philosophy is that during our operations we take into account not only profit, but also aspects of protecting our planet, and we strive to develop the real estate portfolio entrusted to us in a way that increases value. This is linked to our effort to gradually green the commercial locations we manage, contributing to a more livable environment with regular tree planting and green space development.

Accordingly, we created a particularly fast-growing Miyawaki mini-forest in the area of the Auchan Commercial Center in Soroksár, we carry out ecological lawn management in Kecskemét, next to the Auchan hypermarket in Solymár we created a ground squirrel reserve to protect the local ground squirrel population, and in order to preserve the natural values of the Dunakeszi marsh, we implemented the Turtle Nature Trail. The scale of our biodiversity conservation projects now totals nearly 30 hectares.

In addition to the company's objectives, the personal commitment of our staff members is also strong in the field of green projects, which is why every year we organize eco-conscious activities in which they also participate. In recent years, our employees have planted trees on numerous occasions, including in the area of the Auchan Commercial Center in Soroksár and our residential real estate development project in Kecskemét, Boróka Park. What made the current tree planting special was that this time the employees of the real estate service company CBRE also joined our work.

On November 24, 2023, CBRE and Nhood Hungary employees planted 1,200 native covered and free-rooted tree seedlings and 150 native shrubs in the nearly half-hectare area of the Auchan Commercial Center in Maglód.

In order to achieve this, our company once again cooperated with the 10 million Trees Foundation, whose long-term goal is to plant 10 million tree seedlings in Hungary. It is a great pleasure for us that our cooperation goes back several years. We are proud that we have been able to rely on the expertise of 10 million Trees in our greening efforts for years, which is a guarantee that we can ensure the survival of plants and the increase of their biological value in the long term.

Hotter summers and rising temperatures due to climate change make it increasingly necessary to shade public areas, and trees play a prominent role in this. The seedlings planted now will form a cooling grove in a few years, bind dust, carbon dioxide and other air pollutants in the atmosphere, protect against noise pollution and produce a lot of oxygen. In addition, trees also create habitats, as they bring insects, birds and small animals with them, helping to start the local ecosystem.

Regarding the project, Dóra Diána Szemerédi, Head of CSR at Nhood Hungary, said:

"We are particularly proud of this tree planting because we have worked with the CBRE staff throughout the organisation and project management, turning it into a community and attitude-building activity. CBRE's collaboration with Nhood Hungary along common interests not only has a positive environmental impact, but is a collaboration towards a green commitment that is exemplary in the domestic real estate sector and can inspire others. We thank 10 million Trees for their repeated support, added value and participation."
