This year we are again supporting the fight against post-cancer
As October is breast cancer awareness month, November is month of the fight against prostate cancer. In our country, prostate cancer is still a taboo subject, even though the disease, which claims the lives of an average of 1,500 Hungarian men every year, can be successfully treated at an early stage. That is why information and timely screening tests play a huge role.
As a responsible, people-centered company, we at Nhood place a strong emphasis on supporting important social issues, one of which is health promotion. This is why last year our company approached the largest men's health movement in the country, the MentsManust Association, and not only provided financial support, but also decided to provide Auchan Korzó as a venue for the prostate cancer screenings organized by the association this year.
With a history of more than ten years, the MentsManust Association is the largest non-profit organization in Hungary dealing with men's health. They are also responsible for the introduction of the Movember "moustache growing" initiative, which originated in Australia. The aim of the movement is to send a clear message to the stronger sex not to neglect their health and to get regular check-ups. The association is also behind the Prostate Commando screening program, which has been running since 2016. The Hungarian Society of Urologists and the Urology Clinic of Semmelweis University, among others, have joined the free PSA screenings throughout the country.
This year, we are again supporting the valuable work of the MentsManust Association with a donation of 500,000 HUF. In connection with the cooperation, Gergely Fonay, Head of Marketing, together with the President of the MentsManust Association, Dániel László Honti, gave an interview in TV2's Mokka, a popular morning TV program.
