The municipality of the 18th district has developed an independent urban regeneration concept for the development of Üllői út, in the realization of which they are also counting on the business sector. Nhood Hungary will be represented at the event by Balázs Gábosy, Director of Business Development, Sales and Operations, who will also participate in one of the panel discussions.

The municipality of the 18th district is preparing a model urban development project, which would include the renovation of Üllői út, a part of the old city center. The Üllői út, the road connecting Liszt Ferenc Airport with the inner city, spans five districts of Budapest. Of this, 6 km of the road runs east-west through the 18th district of Pestszentlőrinc, making it the most important transport route and a key urban landmark.

The aim of the development concept called “Main Street of Our District” is to rehabilitate Üllői út and its surroundings to create a freer, more vibrant yet also more liveable neighbourhood, supporting a healthier lifestyle and serving the needs of today’s citizens. The project is expected to regenerate not only residential, office buildings and public spaces, but also local infrastructure, with the support of the capital.

The first step of the implementation will be the Budapest18 conference organized by the district Innovation Centre on the 17th of February 2022, where the concept will be presented and panel discussions will take place. To the event, which will happen at the iconic old airport, Terminal 1 Airport Event Center, organizers invited urban planners, real estate developers and local NGOs who not only have an innovative mindset, but also see residents as partners and are open to dialogue.

Nhood Hungary will be represented at the conference by Balázs Gábosy, Director of Business Development, Sales and Operations, who will also participate in the panel discussion on the relationship between innovative social environment and economic development, starting at 1:30 PM. Other participants in the roundtable will include the Mayor of Pestszentlőrinc-Pestszentimre, the Chair of the Civil Greeners Association and a Board member of the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
