HOW CAN NATURE BE INTEGRATED INTO THE DEVELOPMENT OF SHOPPING CENTER ?

The Turtle Nature Trail introduces the wildlife of the peat bog next to the Auchan Korzó in Dunakeszi, bringing nature closer to the visitors of the shopping center. The concept of the trail is based on a study proposed by the Danube-Ipoly National Park Directorate and the flagship animal is a species of turtle (Emys orbicularis), which is a faithful symbol of the area's character. The project is fully in line with our company's philosophy of developing the area we manage in a way that enhances its value, while setting an example in the area of social responsibility.

We wanted to make it eco-friendly, but at the same time unique and spectacular, so we have created five main stations on the approx. 700-meter trail, these are the bog walk, the soil chamber, the bird's nest, the lookout and the turtle sunbathing area. We paid special attention to the preservation of natural values, and along the walking path we guide nature-loving visitors through footpaths, reedbeds and small, inland lakes along a boardwalk that allows people to get to know the local fauna and flora through real experiences. The nature trail will be accessible from the Auchan Korzó parking lot.
 

We wanted to provide a pleasant experience for all generations, so we have created comfortable resting points along the trail, while next to the Auchan building there is a landscaped area and a playground for children, and restaurants and cafés for adults.
 

We wanted it to have a positive economic effect as well, so it is important to us that the development not only creates new jobs, but also increases the visitor traffic of the Dunakeszi Auchan Korzó. The uniqueness of the project is exemplified by the fact that Dunakeszi is the first shopping center in Hungary to provide customers with such an attraction.
